This unit familiarizes and equips learners with major statistical and algebraic concepts techniques and skills in teaching secondary school mathematics in PNG. Students familiarize themselves with the interrelatedness of statistical and algebraic ideas for the purpose of solving everyday mathematical problems. Students relate and integrate statistical knowledge in their unit specialisations and use it in doing their assessment tasks and analyse statistical data in research. It builds confidence to use their statistical knowledge and improves skills in solving problems in the disciplines they will teach.
